Recovery…

23 05 2011

Took a spin to the bank this morning. It was just six miles but, after yesterday’s 43 mile struggle, I needed to check the old legs. Felt pretty good, actually. I guess that’s why they call it recovery.

May-be the weather will improve – someday…

Riding a bicycle has problematic for nearly two weeks now. Wind, cold, rain and – today – hail. Damn I miss Phoenix weather.

Rebuilt SS Conversion Porn…

15 05 2011

I know it seems a bit self-serving to show off like this, but I’m so proud of this bike, which I rebuilt and converted to a single speed last month, that I just had to show it to you. I really hated to sell this bike. I wanted to keep it for myself.

It’s an all steel Centurion Le Mans RS, with a real classic look and feel. The gearing was perfect for the rolling hills around Denver and the feel was delicious. Smooth, swift, and silent, the new owner is going to love riding it for years to come.

The only thing I could have done to improve the look would have been to add white tires. They were just too impractical for me to do it, though.

Love the white handlebar tape and saddle.

Once I snugged up the chain, it was perfect. I think the white chain added some real class to the bike, and really made it “Pop.”

Even these pix don’t really do it justice. It was truly beautiful in person or, as the new owner said upon first sight, “It’s so pretty.”

The Aurora Bicycling Club now has 37 members. In just two months, we’ve grown to more than three dozen members…cool.

10 Miles?

3 05 2011

Hadn’t ridden in eight days, so I decided to go for a 10-12 mile ride. Just wanted to see how the legs were feeling.

Mt Evans, 23 miles from home on the Highline West trail.

I guess they felt pretty good…since I did 30 miles, instead.
